The House of Chaumet, was founded in 1780, by Marie-Etienne Nitot who impressed the Emperor Napoleon with jewelry designs. Appointed the royal family's jeweler, the name Chaumet was responsible for all of the Emperor's fineries through several epochs. Chaumet designed jewelry and watches have also been worn by popes. In 1970, Chaumet acquired Breguet, a prestigious name in luxury watches. Chaumet ventured into the world of timepieces in 1995 under its own name. Since then they have released a diverse and intriguing collection of pieces.
